Downtown LA continues to be a place of discover for me. Who would think that in a place filled with people everyday, there would still be a place everyone conveniently overlooks? Here's my find of the month.

The dozen grand old movie palaces along Broadway may mostly exist in varying states of decay (with the exception of the back-in-action Orpheum and Million Dollar), but at least they’ve always been on the radar of the nostalgia-minded. Not so for the off-the-beaten-path Belasco, over on Hill near 11th Street, which has quietly reopened—only for special events so far—after a years-long, $10 million-plus renovation managed by real estate development couple John and Christina Kim.
